OrlandoCameraClub > Lake Apopka Morning by:Jack Mulligan Judge 1:You've got the technical aspect down. The exposure is very good and the image is very sharp. Start moving around and exploring different views and perspectives. The horizon cuts this image in half and the rail of the dock follows the horizon very closely. Try going back to the same location early in the morning or late in the afternoon to pick up different colors. Change your perspective by moving left to right and up and down. You could possibly use the dock as a leading line into the image. Judge 2:Horizon too centered. This might look great as a high contrast black and white Judge 3:Although the end of the pier is in the center of the image it works. Pretty image and nice use of perspective. You might try cropping in even tighter to lose the plant in the foreground and a small distracting dark item on the right side of the image.
OrlandoCameraClub > Summer Rain by:Jim Thomas Judge 1:The vibrant colors are simply great. The streaks of rain drops add a nice touch of creativity to this overall wonderful composition. When viewed at the original size the image is slightly out of focus. Beautiful image. Judge 2:Nice color. Focus seems to be on the leaves. Judge 3:Good use of color in your subject matter and very nice composition. A tighter crop would have eliminated the dark area in the lower left corner or some work in PhotoShop or other darkroom editing software.
OrlandoCameraClub > Ocean by:Dwain Cunningham Judge 1:Absolutely top notch photo. Everything about this image is done exquisitely. Diagonal lines converging off in the distance to the right. Light reflecting off the water in the foreground gives the image a lot of dimension. Technically it is sharp as can be. These old eyes can not detect any digital noise or digital artifacts. Wonderful harmony of color. Extraordinary Judge 2:Good composition. I feel like I'm there walking. Judge 3:Good placement of the horizon. Also like the use of the diagonal perspective.
OrlandoCameraClub > Sea World Waterfall by:Edward Sizler Judge 1:I like the way this image was composed and the usage of a shutter speed of 1/6s to create a softnes of the water. The highlights are blown out in the rocks and water in the foreground which has eliminated the detail of that area. Overall nicely done. Judge 2:Nice slowing of the falls, a bit flat because of the overexposure. Judge 3:Beautiful falls that I would like to see closer. Try zooming in or cropping. The bottom is blown out and there are also dark areas along the rock. Good stop motion of the water.
OrlandoCameraClub > Stuff the Orlando "Magic" Dragon by:Candy Perkinson Judge 1:Phenomenal image considering the fact you only had seconds to take this. Testimony of the quality of point and shoot cameras. Great composition with the scoreboard in the background and Stuff filling the frame of the image. So many details of the costume are extremely sharp. Black background against the vibrant colors provide a high impact image. Great photo. Judge 2:Doesn't say Florida to me. Judge 3:Like the idea and the point of view keeps it interesting. Not sure of the travel connection.
OrlandoCameraClub > Intruders by:Raida Woll-Gomez Judge 1:When I look at an image that has been created in Photoshop, I ask myself if the objects inserted into the image improve the aesthetics and/or quality of the image. In this case, I feel the object at the bottom of the image detracts from the composition. The stained glass is interesting and not bad. The birds are good because they add some impact to the image, though the lower bird could be sharper. I would have liked to have seen all of the head of the upper bird. The lighting issue brings up the question of how many suns do we have on earth? This photographers photoshop techniques are very very good and his or her creative concepts are much farther developed than mine. Judge 2:Very creative image. Judge 3:Cutting off the birds is very distracting. The elements are very clear and in focus but the composition is confusing.
OrlandoCameraClub > Sunset Flight by:Carol Monroe Judge 1:I believe the photographer is trying to use the palms to frame in the subject. This is a compositional technique that can be done effectively but in this case I feel the frames are dominating the image and making the subject appear insignificant. Judge 2:Using a graduated filter might improve this image. Judge 3:Nice idea and composition. The upper section is blown out. Might be interesting to take this entire image into black and white.
OrlandoCameraClub > Welcome to Florida by:Michael Haddad Judge 1:You have taken a very good technical shot. Focus is very good and sharp. The exposure is very good showing detail in the pelicans and the wood. The sunlight hitting the palm fronds in the background is very distracting and draws the eye away from the center of the subject. A wide open aperture might help with blurring the background though it's not going to darken those bright palm fronds. Judge 2:Says Key West to me. Would love to see more of the surroundings. Judge 3:Cute idea. The contrast is a little weak. Try shooting in the morning, early evening or even on a cloudy day to bring out more vibrant colors. You might also try stepping back so we can enjoy the whole roof.
OrlandoCameraClub > Parking Lot by:William Snyder Judge 1:This is an image that requires an open mind to different styles. I like the front half of the image where the focus is very sharp and there is a fluid texture to the surface. As you progress to the back of the image, you lose the focus and that detail. Judge 2:Play with some artistic filters on this. Doesn't say Florida. Judge 3:If you are trying to show a typical Florida summer flooded parking lot, try shooting from different points of view and perhaps include a vehicle or building to provide more perspective. You want your image to say something and it is difficult to discern with this image.
