OrlandoCameraClub > BEST IN SHOW
Mathew at Sea World by:Milton Heiberg

Judge 1:I love this image. Composition is exceptional. Technically this is outstanding. Creatively it is inspiring and emotional. You have captured a moment in this young man's life that makes a statement. The exposure has captured the light flowing around the clothing, his hands, and face that gives him more of a human quality than a silhouette would. This human quality helps the viewer feel the impact of the moment that this young man is feeling. The only thing I see that could be improved upon is to train the porpoise to face the boy and what the heck, give the boy a wave. Judge 2:Beautiful capture/composition. If the floor were cropped out, might make it more ethereal. Judge 3:Powerful image and nice contrasts between man and animal. Very good use of light.
OrlandoCameraClub > HONORABLE MENTION

End of Summer by:William Grisaitis

Judge 1:The color balance of this image gives me a soothing and calming feeling. If an image can invoke emotion, you have a very powerful image. Compositionally this is done very well. There is digital noise in the sky and a little too much magenta in the clouds. Very well done. Judge 2:I loved this photo, see if the overexposure on the left can be reduced. Judge 3:Too many highlights coming from the left hand side of the sky but very nice composition.

Sandwiched in Blue by:Christian Mildh
Judge 1:I am a sucker for high impact colors and this image has that. Great composition with the blues. The frame of the screen enclosure draws you into the middle of the image and there you spend some time exploring the details of the inside. Is that falling star something you ordered online? Judge 2:I love the color in this and the UFO you captured. Judge 3:Enjoy the idea very much. Outdoor gathering with swimming pool says Florida. Consider straightening the image.
OrlandoCameraClub > HONORABLE MENTION

Surf's Up by:Reg Garner
Judge 1:Yet another image with a story. These 3 are contemplating whether to hit the breakers or not. Nice and sharp with the background out of focus to place emphasis on the 3 subjects. Judge 2:Photos like this just make you grin. Good catch! Judge 3:Strong subject material and nicely themed to competition category. Looks a tad unfocused.
OrlandoCameraClub > Marks Street by:Ken Blye

Judge 1:The exposure on this shot is very good. You can see the details on the white columns of the building and some detail in the shadows of the entrance. The color balance is exceptional and adds a lot to this image. Overall a very good shot. Might be able to improve the sharpness of the focus. Very difficult to add creativity and impact to this subject. Overall, a very good photo. Judge 2:Technically well done. Judge 3:Although the building is interesting, the point of view does not make it compelling. Consider different perspectives and perhaps try a closer shot.
OrlandoCameraClub > Everglades Sunset by:JudyHogan Judge 1:Technically this shot is right on. I particularly like the exposure of the edge of the cloud which give the image dimension and contributes to the composition. Outstanding Judge 2:Beautiful exposure, I might have cropped more sky off the top. Judge 3:Nice composition and avoidance of horizon in the center. Palm trees give the image a nice Florida feel rather than just another sunset.
OrlandoCameraClub > Lake Ashton Country Club by:Geoffrey Soloven

Judge 1:An interesting subject, something you don't see everyday. Focus is nice and sharp. More emphasis should be placed on the subject by eliminating the background. Different lighting conditions would add color and dimension to the image overall. Judge 2:Nice compositon, exposure on the sky could be corrected so the image would not be as flat. Judge 3:The oversize chess game is the most unique element of the image. Try getting closer to the chess game. The image is also very centered along the horizontal and am not sure what you wanted viewer to focus on.
OrlandoCameraClub > Flagler College-A Florida Jewel by:Donald Newton

Judge 1:As I look at this image, I find myself straining to see the detail of the eve of the roof and the design of the tower. I believe the photographer may have been trying to compose the image with the tower and the entrance together. Moving in closer to the subject would make a big difference, though you would lose your choice of perspective which is an excellent choice. Another alternative would be, if you have a zoom lens, to stay at the same location and zoom in to the subject and rotate the camera to a vertical position in an attempt to capture the beautiful details. Great choice of subject for this theme. Judge 2:Tighter composition might improve this image. Judge 3:You might try moving closer to the building to show off the archtecture while losing some of the sky. The angle in which you shot makes an interesting image.
OrlandoCameraClub > Stump 'n Suds by:Bill Monroe

Judge 1:This is an outstanding composition using both contrasting white and dark blue colors as well as a white diagonal line through the image. The lines in the foam emphasize the diagonal. At the bottom right corner, I would have cropped out the foam that forms an arch which I feel detracts from the diagonal lines of the foam. Also the top tip of the stump is ever so slightly out of focus, possibly due to being just at the back edge of the depth of field. This is a beautiful and outstanding image. Judge 2:Exposure is tack on. I just wish the stump was not centered. Judge 3:Creativity in the title and impact due to unique subject matter in the water. Not the usual content. Technically, the image looks a tad blurry.
